Challenge

The staff of National Frozen Foods’ vegetable processing and cold-storage facility had been searching for ways to improve energy efficiency and better manage the facility’s extensive refrigeration operations.

Solution

Based on the recommendation of Cascade Energy Engineering, the Albany facility deployed a multi-faceted Logix system to manage all refrigeration operations, including the production freezing lines and all six cold storage rooms.

Results

National's Albany facility realized a significant drop in the facility's energy consumption -- enough to qualify for electrical utility subsidies and state energy tax credits. Thanks in part to the labor-reduction efficiencies of the Logix system, National is now able to manage the entire Albany facility more efficiently while saving money on labor costs.
